Visit the nearest wine-growing region to Sydney - the Hunter Valley. This purpose built YHA hostel is right in the heart of wine country. The hostel recently completed major renovations, now with brand new bathrooms, kitchen and lounge area; and a lovely new outdoor area with pool, BBQ and hammocks. Wine tours are available from the hostel; and it's only a short walk to the local pub with meals and nightlife.
There is a 2-night minimum for weekend bookings.
There are many activities and attractions in the Hunter Valley for everyone to enjoy. Horse riding, hot-air ballooning, bushwalking, bike riding, visiting the local zoo and national parks, or go on one of the wine tours.
Within an easy 400 metre walk of the hostel is Potters Brewery. A pub with food, pool tables, music and entertainment. More pubs are located 2 kms into the town of Cessnock.

Do a wine tour! I had an amazing day!
Port Stephens, also known as Australia's blue water paradise, is just 2.5 hours north of Sydney on the NSW coast. Visit the local bottlenose dolphins and swim in crystal clear bays with golden sand.
Visit Australia's oldest wine producing area. Taste world class wine and talk to family winemakers who have been producing authentic Australian wine for generations.
