I have been visiting the hostel regularly over the years. I enjoy the place and regard it as home away from home. Meeting interesting people and discussing with different issues.

This charming fishing village is a must see. Port Fairy is located at the end of the iconic Great Ocean Road and is one of the busiest fishing ports in Victoria. You can watch the fishermen unload their catch for the day or wander the wide streets lined with quaint nineteenth century cottages, including our own YHA!
A piece of Victorian history and former home to the town founder, Port Fairy YHA backpackers hostel is one of the oldest heritage buildings in the seaside town. Ideally located its walking distance to the town centre, beaches and river. Why not eat fresh fish and chips on the beach from the local store and wander to Griffiths Island and see the lighthouse and colony of birds.
In addition to multi-share and private rooms Port Fairy YHA also has a self contained apartment with a Queen Room and Twin Room (sleeps 4) that can be booked by calling the hostel directly. Prices start from $200 for 4 people, please call for more information or to book. Terms and Conditions Apply.
Enjoy historic buildings, antiques and art galleries, shops, good food and popular music festivals. See the Australian wildlife at Tower Hill, walk to the lighthouse to see the mutton birds (summer) and view the whales and seals nearby. Port Fairy has all this and more located nearby to the hostel.
Mingle with the locals! Port Fairy YHA is located close to four great pubs in the town centre. Watch closely as the sun goes down for great viewing opportunities of the beautiful Australian wildlife.

The Spring Music Festival at Port Fairy in October is outstanding! Great choices for food. Try the fish and chips near the caravan park - the best I've had.
