"YHA Newcastle is in a very good location - in a quiet street nearly opposite a park and close to Newcastle beach and ocean pool & the railway station. There is very little noise at night so it is easy to get a good night's sleep."

"Had a great stay on the YHA in Newcastle, first of all I want to give a huge compliment to the girls cleaning the kitchen; never seen a kitchen that clean in a hostel, ever (I've been backpacking for 13 months)! The lounge was cool (the piano needs some tuning though). I loved that every working day there were different "free" meals going on around Newcastle. Great location! Will return again!"

"Nice hostel which was very informative about how to get the best out of your stay in Newcastle. Location is a bit of a let down as this part of newcastle is very run down and all the regenration is taking place round the harbour development. Overall had a good stay and plenty of things do do to keep you entertained."
