Only 400m to the bus stop, Stateliner buses arrive in Port Elliot (on the Fleurieu Peninsula) from Adelaide 4 times daily from Monday to Friday, twice on Saturdays and once on Sundays. Travel time is approximately 1.5-2 hours.
Interstate trains arrive at Keswick Station in Adelaide, only 90 kms from the Port Elliot Beach House Hostel.

Southern Right Whales move slowly and come very close to shore, often within 100m, offering visitors an intimate experience not to be missed!
Overlooking the calm waters of Horseshoe Bay and the Southern Ocean beyond, Port Elliot Beach House YHA is perfect for family and group getaways all year round. With many fun and educational experiences in the surrounding area, including surf lessons, whale watching, penguin spotting and kaying the Coorong, overnight school excursions are also very popular. With beautiful boutique facilities in 100 year old building and million dollar views, you'll want to come back for more.

On-site facilities: Stylish 2, 4 & 5 share dormitory-style accommodation, twin, double and family rooms, 24 hour access, lockers in all shared rooms, local information & tour bookings available from our friendly staff, internet access, spacious back yard decking and undercover BBQ area with table and chairs for outdoor eating, as well as large eating area inside with open fireplace and large cooking area to prepare meals for groups. Pick your own herbs and vegetables from our bountiful veggie patch. There are also laundry facilities, TV and lounge areas, luggage storage, a ping pong table and other games and the beautiful balcony with its million dollar views of the South Ocean.
Things to do: There is so much to see and do in this beautiful part of the world that you will never be bored during your visit to Port Elliot and Horseshoe Bay. Ride the historic 'Steam Ranger' or 'Cockle Train' which runs from Goolwa through Port Elliot to Victor Harbor, Urimbirra Wildlife Park is an open-range park where you can see close at hand an impressive collection of Australian wildlife and offer a 15% discount to YHA members. There's also surf lessons at nearby Middleton Beach, Whale Watching from June to October, bike hire, penguin spotting on Granite Island, you can go for a ride on a horse drawn cart, or a wildlife boat ride along the coast. There are also many great educational opportunities in the area.
