Kangaroo Island's local wildlife such as wallabies come into the town and the hostel around dusk, and there is penguins colonies located very close to the hostel.
Bus:
There is no public transport on Kangaroo Island. The Sealink Ferry service has a coach service that leaves Penneshaw Wharf at 10am every day to Kingscote and returns at 5.30pm to Penneshaw. Bookings can be made prior to your stay by calling Sealink on 131301 or at Penneshaw Sealink office on the day, before 10am.
