"I am really satisfied with my stay at Strahan YHA. Deb and Rob, owners of the hostel, are very good managers. Their facility, particularly kitchen and toiletes, are very well maintained, clean, tidy and safe. Moreover, they both are very honest, friendly and helpful. The value for money, especially if you have a YHA card, is very good. I recommend this hostel to stay without any hesitation."

"Cabin was nice but bathrooms were a bit grotty and all seemed to have maintenance issues. Expensive for what it offered. Internet (WiFi) had no range and could only be accessed right outside the office (which made it almost useless)."

"Nice quiet location away from the main street. Mainly older style cabins with toilet/shower facilities outside. Pretty old, but quite serviceable. Friendly staff."

"strahan is a quie little town, and the hostel reflects that. the hostel was quite empty when i was there which made the common areas pretty deserted. the owners were really friendly and helpful. i booked a single room but was upgraded to a double, which was an unexpected treat. if i'm back in strahan i'll be staying here."

"Difficult place to find as it wasn't signposted very well. Staff were friendly and we even walked the dog with the co-owner. Our room was upgraded to a hut which was nice. Pool table and adequate cooking facilities. Bathrooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. Quite a pleasant, peaceful stay though."

"Just a basic hostel to stay but who cares, if you travel to Strahan and stay here what you'll do would be taking either Gordon river cruise or train to Queenstown which means you don't have time to spend at the hostel that much."
