This YHA is located near the famous Margaret River wine region and it is well worth visiting the area to sample the local produce. You can visit many wineries, breweries, cheese, chocolate, coffee and ice-cream factories. The area is also known for its world famous surf breaks. Or if you just want to relax, enjoy the hostel's facilities such as Foxtel and the football pitch.

There is live music every Fri, Sat, Sun at the at Settlers Tavern, just a short walk from the Margaret River YHA hostel. Nightly meal specials around town. Karaoke on Mondays and Thursdays, Pool Competition every Tuesday; open until midnight on Wednesday.

Things to do in Margaret River

  1. Pop on your boots and hike. Australia's longest coastal trail starts at Cape Naturaliste and finishes at Cape Leeuwin and runs through Margaret River. Go for a stroll!
  2. Head to the beach. Margaret River is a short 10-minute drive to the closest beach, so get in your car and dive into the crystal-clear waters of the WA coast.
  3. Go caving. Margaret River has an extensive network of over 150 caves that you can either explore as part of a tour or at your own leisure.
  4. Indulge your tastebuds at one of Australia Most Iconic brewery's the Cheeky Monkey offers good meals and even better beer and wine.
  5. Explore the Margaret River Farmers Market every Saturday 7:30am - 11:30am.
  6. Soak up the art at the Boranup Gallery with artworks from all around the region.
