Why Thredbo’s not just a winter destination

The village turns into a mountain-biking hub as the snow melts and the ski slopes transform into hair-raising tracks.

Think there’s nothing to do in the Snowy Mountains when they’re not so snowy? Think again.

Summer is mountain biking season, and Thredbo is one of Australia’s premier MTB destinations, boasting trails, clinics, events and programs perfect for riders of all ages and abilities.

Thredbo Mountain Bike Park is home to 25km of trails – downhill, cross country, all-mountain and a fast flowing pump track, all connected by chairlifts and a team of qualified guides – to explore between 18 November 2017 and 29 April 2018.

There’s also an upgraded rental fleet this summer, offering riders the latest gravity-focused all-mountain and downhill bikes by all the top brands, as well as basic bikes and courses for beginners, plus an exciting program of MTB events that will light up the village all season.

And that’s not all you get up to in Thredbo this summer – there’s also bushwalks, fishing, golf, tennis, bobsledding and abseiling to give you plenty to do even when there’s no snow on the slopes.
