1 Day Blue Mountains Explore the Wilderness

If you are fit, active and love bush walks then this is the tour for you! Explore waterfalls, rainforest, the 3 Sisters plus a wildlife park. Choose to do the day tour or why not stay overnight.

Escape the city and start the day with a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park. This hands – on experience gives you the opportunity to see and touch Australian wildlife up close, have a photo with a koala, hand feed a kangaroo and see all your Aussie favorites.

Join an eco-accredited guide as they take you on an amazing bushwalk through the World Heritage national park. Stone hop across a stream, follow the edge of the cliff, see awesome views, take great photos from lookouts and see a stunning waterfall.

After a big bushwalk, enjoy a tasty picnic lunch made with fresh local produce. See the famous Three Sisters rock formation, one of the most iconic images in Australia. The views overlooking the Jamison Valley are incredible! As well as getting that classic photo, you'll hear the stories of the local Aboriginal legends.

Next you’ll discover the Furber Steps, a path cut into the side of the cliff. Descend into the valley surrounded by rainforest, see waterfalls and stunning views of valley and Three Sisters. At the bottom you can choose to take the famous Scenic Railway back to the top (own expense) or challenge yourself to return via the steps.

A medium level of fitness is required to join this trip.

Why not also stay the night after the tour in the popular Blue Mountains YHA hostel in Katoomba and explore more bush walks, try abseiling or take a local tour to Jenolan Caves. The overnight option will include 1 night shared accommodation. You will need to return by local train to Sydney which is approximately $10 and takes 2 hours.

This Blue Mountains tour suits all ages and is perfect for travellers who want to see a few attractions in 1 day!

Visit the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains and see the essential tourist destinations, including Echo Point with views of the Jamison Valley and the Three Sisters. Stop at Wentworth Falls with a short optional bushwalk and follow the scenic Cliff Drive with magnificent views over the Megalong Valley.

Learn about the aboriginal legends and the blue haze phenomenon of the Blue Mountains. Browse through the antique and craft shops at historic Leura and go back in time at the Candy Store, an old-time lolly shop.

Tour award-winning Featherdale Wildlife Park - take a close up photo beside a cuddly koala, hand feed kangaroos, see wombats, crocodiles and more! Two course lunch is included and on the way home enjoy a relaxing river cruise along the Parramatta River.

Blue Mountains Overnight Escape

Combine our popular Scenic 1 day tour with an overnight stay at YHA Katoomba. You can chill out the second day, tour Jenolan Caves or be adventurous and go abseiling!
This tour combines our popular 1 day guided Scenic Tour of Blue Mountains from Sydney where you will visit all the highlights including Featherdale Wildlife Park on the way. You will then be dropped off at the YHA Katoomba hostel where the tour will end and you will have 1 night dormitory accommodation included. You can unwind and enjoy some free time.

The second day is a free day to do more walks in the area or simply relax.

You can also choose to add an optional tour on the second day:

* Join a local guided tour to Jenolan Caves which includes admission to either Lucas or Chifley Caves. Coach tour departs daily form Katoomba YHA at 10.35am and will return to Katoomba by 5.00pm.


* 1/2 day abseil adventure. The abseiling starts with a beginner friendly 5 metre high cliff. Your instructors are close at hand to encourage and explain the techniques. The tour departs Katoomba -Blue Mountains YHA. at 9.00am and will end by 1pm.

This package departs daily.

You will need to catch the train back from Katoomba Station to Sydney Central. Trains take approx 2 hours and cost about $10. There are regular departures. Timetables can be viewed on

The package also excludes all meals except for lunch on Day 1 and will exclude the return river cruise which is included on the day trip option as you will be making your own way back by train. Scenic World rides are also an additional cost.

  • The bush walk from Govetts leap to Evans lookout is a great 2 hour walk with awesome views of the valley, worth checking out if you have time.

  • Hawkesbury Heights is quite different than the upper mountains as the upper mountains are geared for tourists where the lower mountains aren't as much. But their are some lovely walks between springwood to Faulconbridge and in Glenbrook. Just do a little research first.
