There's so much to see and do at Phillip Island! The island has lots of wildlife attractions including the world-famous nightly parade of the Little Penguins, the Koala Conservation Centre, the Nobbies Centre detailing everything there is to know about the Australian Fur Seals and Churchill Heritage Farm. 

Phillip Island is also blessed with beautiful natural beaches, great surf breaks, rugged coastal views, great bushwalks and cute local cafes and restaurants. For the sports enthusiast the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a must see and is home to a busy motor sports event calendar including the annual Australian MotoGP.

Can't decide if you should visit the famous penguin parade at Phillip Island or head down the Great Ocean Road to the iconic 12 Apostles? Why not both?

Itinerary:

Day 1
Departing Melbourne you will take the inland route to Port Campbell, heading straight to the 12 Apostles. Stroll along the board walks and check out the various lookout points to admire the magnificent size of the limestone stacks. You can head down to the beach at Loch Ard Gorge and Gibson Steps to get the sand between your toes. As you wind your way along the Great Ocean Road you will get the chance to walk through an ancient rainforest, spot wild koalas and visit small coastal towns. Overnight at Bellarine Holiday Park.

Day 2
Start the morning with a ferry transfer from Queenscliff to Sorrento, keeping an eye out for dolphins as you cross the bay! Along the way to Phillip Island you will visit the brightly coloured bathing boxes at Portsea and stop in at Moonlight Sanctuary to encounter some of Australia's most adorable native animals. Explore the spectacular coastline of the island from the boardwalks and lookout points set amongst natural sea bird gardens at the Nobbies. As the sun sets, watch hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach at the famous Penguin Parade.

Philip Island pinguin 1 day tour from Melbourne

Encounter unique Australian wildlife, including the famous Penguin Parade, on this nature lovers 1 day tour of Phillip Island.
Head to Phillip Island for a day of stunning landscapes and iconic wildlife. Along the way you will stop at an Australian Wildlife park to get up close and personal with animals including Koalas, Emus, Wombats and Tasmanian devils. You will even get the chance to hand feed the Kangaroos!

Explore the spectacular coastline of the Island from the boardwalks and lookout points set amongst natural sea bird gardens at the Nobbies. Look out to Seal Rocks and spot the largest colony of Australian Fur Seals.

It is then time to head to the world famous Penguin Parade. As the sun sets, watch hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and back to their burrows after a long day at sea. Upgrade to the Penguins Plus viewing platform or underground viewing area for an even better look at these adorable animals!

Enjoy 3-4 hours of hiking the trails such as Mt Bishop, Vereker Outlook or Pillar Point (easy – medium graded walks).Take a walk on Squeaky Beach and be amused by the 'singing sands' as you go. 

With a bit of luck you will see a diverse range of Australian wildlife throughout the national park such as emus, kangaroos, wombats and echidna's.
