Enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay in the beautifully updated former Fremantle Women’s Prison warder’s cottages, built in the late 19th century to accommodate the staff from the Fremantle Women’s prison. Located on top of the hill with historic Fremantle City at your doorstep, these delightful cottages have been lovingly furnished to create a modern, comfortable stay. Fremantle Colonial Cottages are the perfect place to stay for a group holiday, whether it be with family, friends or a mix of both.

Our Rent-a-YHA program gives you access to all three cottages. Each cottage sleeps 6 people in two rooms (double and bunk rooms) and has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bathroom, outdoor patio in the backyard and relaxing verandah out the front from which you can watch the world go by.

For an urban adventure, explore the colourful Fremantle markets, the famous Cappuccino Strip, or any one of the city's bustling micro breweries, bars and clubs. Beach lovers should visit one of the many beautiful beaches in Fremantle and spend the day in the sunshine.
Delve into Fremantle's extensive history by visiting neighbouring Fremantle Prison and going on one of their immersive prison tours. Alternatively, head to the Maritime Museum or the Shipwreck Galleries for insight into seafaring Fremantle.
