10 Day Adelaide to Perth Nullarbor Adventure Tour

Tour includes 1 night at Adelaide Central YHA and 1 night at Perth City YHA for before and after your tour.

Day 1: Flinders Ranges

  • Stop at beautiful Clare
  • Explore ancient Southern Flinders Ranges.
  • Hike Alligator Gorge
  • Explore the pristine Warren Gorge where you will camp out under the stars of the Southern Cross.

Day 2: Flinders Ranges & The Eyre Peninsula

  • See unique silo art in the tiny outback town of Kimba.
  • Spot dolphins surfing the waves at Venus Bay and explore Talia Caves.
  • Test out their sandboarding skills tt Lake Newland sand dunes
  • Stop at Coodlie Park and enjoy a delicious BBQ feast.
  • Share campfire stories with travellers from other tours
  • Spend the night in a unique swag hut.

Day 3: Baird Bay & Penong

  • Take a two-hour learn-to-surf lesson on a remote and pristine beach ,or choose instead to to relax, swim or explore Sceale Bay.
  • Optional experience: Choose to swim, snorkel and splash about with playful sea lions and magical dolphins on a 3-hour cruise of Baird Bay. Cost is $180 and will be a memory you’ll treasure forever (trust us!). Let us know at time of booking if you would like to add this on. 
  • Camp at Penong, famous for its dozens of windmills.

Day 4: The Great Australian Bight & Nullabor

  • A long drive today as you travel across the mighty Nullarbor Plain.
  • Take a snap the world-famous wombat, kangaroo and camel road signs
  • Experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the ‘Edge of Australia’at the Bunda Cliffs.
  • Stop at the iconic Nullarbor Roadhouse
  • Explore the ruins of an old telegraph station
  • Cross the border into Western Australia.
  • Bush camp under the amazing stars of the southern skies on the Nullarbor

Day 5: The Nullarbor & Cape Le Grand National Park

  • Take on Australia’s longest straight
  • Experience Australia’s most spectacular scenery as you head towards Esperance and some of the best beaches in the world.
  • Set up camp in the most spectacular of all, Cape Le Grand. In fact, it’s so spectacular you stay two nights, with the area having well-equipped facilities

Day 6 : Cape Le Grand National Park

  • Experience the pristine, perfect, stunningly white beaches and beauty of Cape Le Grand National Park.
  • Meet the adorable western grey kangaroos, who will pose for that iconic kangaroo selfie.
  • Spend the day exploring, swimming and bushwalking, with free time to do whatever you please.

Day 7: Cape Le Grand National Park & Stirling Ranges

  • Witness the spectacular Sunrise.
  • Wander onto the beach nice and early to see the active kangaroos
  • Hike up Frenchman Peak.
  • Refuel with a lunch stop on one of the many beaches on Esperance’s Great Ocean Drive,
  • Camp tonight at Stirling Ranges at Mount Trio.

 Day 8: Stirling Ranges & South West Coast

  • Take a two-hour hike through spectacular forests to Castle Rock.
  • Enjoy a magnificent coastal drive towards Albany.
  • Be wowed at The Gap and Natural Bridge
  • Stop for a dip at magical Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool in William Bay National Park
  • Discover the pristine wilderness and old growth forests of the Walpole region
  • Camp at a Quinnup Caravan Park

Day 9: Margaret River

  • Climb the 50-metre Diamond Tree, a native karri tree once used as a fire lookout, and the only wooden tree-top tower in the world.
  • Taste your way around Margaret River, visiting boutique wineries, craft breweries, a chocolate factory and a cheese factory, with plenty of free samples.
  • Camp at Big Valley Caravan Park in Margaret

Day 10: Margaret River to Perth

  • Head to the town of Dunsborough to meet Wardandi custodian, Josh.
  • Go deep down into the Ngilgi Cave for a memorable underground didgeridoo performance, taste native foods, and experience traditional fire-lighting on this unique Indigenous cultural experience.
  • Take dip at the popular tourist town of Busselton
  • Arrive into Perth around 6pm reflect on big journey together over a few drinks (own expense).

Things You Should Know

You Should Read This Stuff!

This is an active adventure tour and a good level of fitness is required.

Meals: There is plenty of variety and fresh products. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements at time of booking. We also recommend travellers who may have a difficult diet to cater for bring some of their own preferred foods for the journey. 

Camping: This is a camping adventure and participation and involvement is required from passengers. Accommodation on tour is a mixture of national parks, campgrounds, bush camps (no facilities). When camping, we use individual swags. (wet weather option is 3-person dome tents shared by a maximum of 2 people per tent). Camping spots may change as sometimes weather conditions will dictate the best place to camp. If the weather is unreliable the guide may suggest to the group to stop in an accommodated premises- this is at the individuals own cost.

Changes to Itinerary:Experienced guides will tailor all of the activities on seasonal & cultural conditions throughout the year, to maximize your experience and enjoyment. Any deviation from this itinerary will be made with serious consideration and your best interest and safety is our priority.

Please ensure that you have comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, insert repellent, hat , sunscreen, swimmers and snacks in hand luggage on the bus.  It’s also a great idea to have a torch or headlight, travel pillow and rainproof jacket.  And don’t forget a sleeping bag!

Sleeping Bags: Nullarbor traveller provides swags (canvas bag with mattress). Passengers need to bring their own sleeping bag as they are not provided. If you do not require your sleeping bag at the end of the tour, it can be donated to a charity of your choice. You can also provide your own pillow if they wish.

Cancellation and Amendment Fees

Cancellations:

Due to the discount offered and the structure of this package - it is non-refundable once confirmed.

Amendments:

Each amendment (not cancellation) to the original booking, after confirmation will incur a fee of $25 per person and per amendment.

Amendments are subject to availability.

General Travel Deal Terms and Conditions  

  • Your credit card will be debited upon completion of the online booking process. Your booking is guaranteed once you receive a confirmation email from a YHA Travel & Tours consultant.
  • In the unlikely event we cannot confirm your booking, we will refund the total amount to the credit card with which payment has been made within 7 days. YHA Travel & Tours and its suppliers are not liable in the event a tour or package is not available, and any refunds are restricted to the purchase price of the tour or package booked.
  • All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars.
  • YHA Travel & Tours will aim to respond to your booking within 24 hours by email

Cancellations and Amendments

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please notify us immediately by email. You can find the email contact details on your booking confirmation. Cancellation and change fees are outlined below:

Cancellations:

  • A minimum cancellation fee of $25 per booking will apply to all cancellations. This fee excludes tour operator fees which will vary at the discretion of the supplier/s involved.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the tour, activity, accommodation, transport item commencing will incur a 100% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued.
  • No- shows/ failure to check- in for any tour, activity, accommodation, and/or transport item is considered a cancellation and a refund will not be issued.
  • Refunds are not available on unused portions of tour packages.

Amendments

  • Booking changes and amendments must be made 5 business days prior to the confirmed date of commencement for the tour, activity, accommodation, or transport item.
  • Booking changes and amendments to any booking made within 48 hours of the tour, activity, accommodation, and/or transport item may result in full cancellation and rebooking of each item and will therefore be charged full cancellation fees.
  • Each change/ amendment after confirmation will incur a minimum fee of $25 per person, per change/ amendment. This fee is in addition to any fees imposed by the tour operator which will vary in line with the cancellation and change terms and conditions of the tour operator involved.

 YHA Membership

This YHA Travel and Tours product is not restricted to YHA members and guests. You do not need to be a member or guest of YHA to purchase this product.

  • If there is accommodation included in this YHA Travel and Tours product and you are not already a member of YHA Australia, membership will be included as part as your first night’s stay
  • If you are an Australian resident, your membership is valid for 2 years from the month that you stay at your first YHA hostel in Australia. Your membership will renew automatically, unless you have not stayed in a YHA hostel in the past 24 months and have unsubscribed from all electronic communications.
  • If you are not an Australian resident, your membership is valid for 2 years from the month that you stay at your first YHA hostel in Australia.
