Energy reduction:

  • Passive solar design means our hostel stays warm in winter and cool in summer
  • Low energy and timed lighting: no need for lights on in empty rooms
  • Promotion of public transport and free bike storage, the easiest way to be eco-friendly
  • We’ve just installed a solar hot water system to power your showers through sunlight!

Waste Minimalisation_Green.png

Waste minimisation:

  • Recycling stations in kitchens, common areas and office areas to recycle anything from printer cartridges or our 100% recycled paper, to tinnies of beer, clothes, and plastic containers
  • We feed our worms your rubbish! All Organic kitchen waste is composted on-site
  • Eco-friendly cleaning products for shiny hostels and a happy earth

  • Dual flush toilets for ultimate bathroom break efficiency
  • Get educated with signage in bathrooms and kitchens encouraging guests to minimise water usage

Social sustainability:

  • We’re proud to partner with local education providers to offer work experience for local students and sponsor local community groups and events.
  • Join us on a volunteer weekend for Bush Regeneration in the Ku-ring-gai National Park or head out on a kayak, hike or bushwalk for carbon-neutral activities
