The Sydney Royal Easter Show is back on again from 10-23 April 2014. Australia's largest annual event brings the country to the city, so gather up your friends and family for an action-packed day of thrill rides, amazing performances, cuddly animals, delicious food, and cool competitions.

Highlights in 2014:

Australiana In All Its Glory: Brand new in 2014, this 45-minute nightly entertainment spectacular celebrates Australia’s breathtaking landscapes, incredible innovations, inspiring people and sporting passion. It’s sure to thrill you with dazzling singers, dancers, whip-crackers, lifesavers, rally drivers and MotoX riders and a 12-minute fireworks finale.

Dinosaur Adventures: Take an interactive walk-through this unique exhibition featuring 29 life-sized animated creatures with reptilian skin that roar, breathe and stomp.

Goin’ Ape – Gorillas in Your Midst: Making its debut in Sydney, after performances around the world, Showgoers will be entertained by the antics of a family of four naturalistic mountain gorilla performers and their intrepid explorer friend.

Great Australian Traditions: All the Show favourites are back this year too, including the Woodchopping and Sawing Competition, the Whipcracking Championships, the colourful street parades and the rodeo.

Rides & Carnival: The Show is home to the largest carnival in the Southern Hemisphere with over 100 rides and games on offer, including the fast and furious Crazy Spinning Coaster and Extreme, and brand new rides Freak Out, Airmax 360 and the Double Storey Carousel. Save more than 25% on rides by pre-purchasing Early Bird eVouchers online.

Showbags galore: First developed especially for the Easter Show over 100 years ago, the 2014 Show promises 300 unique, themed bags of gadgets, merchandise, sweets and treats to tempt everyone from chocoholics, to sports fans and practical jokers.

Meet the animals: Dogs, cats, alpacas, poultry, pigs, horses, sheep, goats and cattle are just some of the 14,000 non-human visitors to the Show that you can meet, admire and learn to care for. There are plenty of interactive animal encounters giving you the opportunity to wash a chock, shear a sheep, milk a cow, pat a piglet, or feed the baby animals in the Farmyard Nursery.

Food and Wine Garden: Stick to the traditional Show favourites of fairy floss and dagwood dogs, or try something a little more gourmet as you sample your way around the delicious Food and Wine Garden.
