YHA gets the nod for the 18th annual AIMIA Awards

YHA Australia is once again up for a prestigious award, this time for the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association Awards.

YHA Australia has been shortlisted in the Best Tourism or Travel category, for the recently released YHA Facebook and Mobile Booking applications.

The AIMIAs are the longest running and most prestigious Awards in Australia’s digital industry. Winners will be announced at the Digital Industry’s night of nights at Cockatoo Island in Sydney on Friday 16 March 2012.

Known affectionately as 'The Amys', the AIMIA Awards showcase work undertaken by Australia and New Zealand's digital content, services and applications industry across a broad range of categories. Entries are judged by a panel of 160 global industry experts, drawn from all facets of the industry.

The Facebook Booking Application up for the technological gong allows guests to book over 100 YHA hostels all around Australia without ever having to leave their favourite social media site. Already a hit with YHA guests, it’s also the first application of its kind launched by an Australian hostel network.

The Facebook booking app continues YHA’s focus on developing technology platforms to meet the changing needs of their customers. It follows on from the mobile website, m.yha.com.au which was also a first for an Australian hostel network when launched two years ago and continues to grow in popularity.

You can find the Facebook app at https://apps.facebook.com/yha-bookings/.
