The Maits rest walk took us 10 minutes walking fast and is only 800 metres. The estimate of 40 minutes is a bit much even if you really soaked up the atmosphere. Not essential for NZ trampers as similar to NZ bush. Twelve Apostles did not disappoint. Great trip.
