"We found Brisbane YHA to be a great place to stay. We used Drifters the restaurant daily for breakfast and also dined in for dinner one night and the food and service were both very good. I would especially like to mention Christian who served us cheerfully and efficiently over the week we were there. He is an asset to Drifters and helped to make our stay a pleasurable one."

"YHA member for 30+ years so glad to see Brisbane City continues to outshine its nearby competitors in all areas of hospitality. Friendly helpful reception staff, clean comfy rooms, great communal areas and well-appointed self-catering kitchen, but why would you bother? Drifters licensed cafe serves the most awesome schnitzels Thursday nights. Many thanks again."

"Very clean, efficiently organised, guests and staff were courteous. But, could hear train noise and main door opening and closing throughout the nite. May just be due to the room location near entry door to accomodation area. Drinks in restaurant associated with the hostel were way over priced. $6.00 for a Pure Blonde stubbie???"

"This was a wonderful way to stay comfortably in a central location the drifters restaurant and bar provided first class breakfast and dinner, excellent. The one thing to remember though is a YHA does attract noisy late night youngsters returning to their rooms with little regard for others, more so than other places I've stayed. Consider private room. Still expect some noise in corridors though."

"This has the best facilities of any hostel that I have stayed at in Australia. Because it is so big, it has lost some of the hominess that the others have. The cafe is excellent and the bright kitchen, dining and pool area is wonderful. It is very close to all attractions and CBD. The view from the roof is fantastic."
