5 Cheap Study Breaks For Melbourne Students

Just because you're studying doesn't mean you should stay indoors with your nose in a book. Get out there and explore what this city has to offer!

Melbourne is such an exciting, bustling city and there's always something going on. If you're studying in Melbourne, don't just work, make sure you live it! Check out these top (and cheap) activities  for you and your new uni mates to do, far far away from the books #nofomo.

1. HIT THE BEACH

Melbourne may not have the white sands of Queensland, but our beaches are pretty and super close to the city, so you don't have to travel far to soak up some rays. Don't forget the sunscreen!

2. GET YOUR SPORT ON

Whatever your sport of choice is, as the sporting capital of Australia, Melbourne is bound to have it. Use your student card to get a discount on tickets for games as well as discounts on gyms and classes.

3. RELAX IN A PARK

As the Garden State of Australia, Victoria has so many gardens to visit, with a bunch right in the city! Grab your mates, pack a picnic and relax in the sunshine. All thoughts of uni will slowly disappear...

4. #OMNOMNOM YOUR WAY THROUGH MELBOURNE'S MARKETS.

There is always a market on in Melbourne, so whether you're after a tasty treat (aren't we all?) or a unique gift or statement piece for your house, Melbourne's markets are the answer. We love the food markets most of all, so grab a feed and discover your new favourite cuisine.

5. ESCAPE THE CITY.

Jump in the car and explore regional Victoria for quaint country towns and distinctly unique scenery. Check out the 1000 Steps in the Dandenongs or hike up to Hanging Rock in the Macedon Ranges for a great workout and stunning views.
