  • Murwillumbah YHA - Mt Warning

Murwillumbah YHA is a great short and peaceful break from Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. The hostel has free Wi-Fi hotspot, premium Wi-Fi Plus, stunning views of World Heritage listed Mt Warning and is located right on the shores of the Tweed River.  The house was originally a ferry captains home (1922-1932) featuring riverside gardens, the staff and guests have created a quirky décor and a homely atmosphere. Being a small hostel, guests can meet and socialise easily. It’s famous for free ice cream provided at 9pm most nights, gathering guests together.

This cosy backpacker accommodation makes a great base to explore Mount Warning, National Parks, rainforest, and waterfalls. Experience a typical Aussie community, see the murals and graffiti wall, swim or kayak the peaceful Tweed River.

Free bike hire with every 2-night stay, and free kayak hire wither every 3-night stay.

    • A bit out of the way compared to many other hostels but the scenery and atmosphere makes up for it. This place makes for a lovely few days of relaxing and then mountain climbing.

    • A brilliant little hostel in a great location. Tassie, the hostel owner, has taken alot of effort in providing useful information to all visitors and making the place special. It is unique and quirky hostel with a very homely feel. P.s the bed in the double room (no3) was very confortable.
