 Energy Efficiency:

  • Low energy bulbs used throughout the hostel
  • Promotion of public transport including bike rental and free bike storage – the easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint!
YHA Sustainability - Waste

    Waste Minimisation:

  • Recycling stations in kitchens, common areas and office areas to recycle anything from printer cartridges or our 100% recycled paper, to tinnies of beer and plastic containers, dead batteries and even a swap station for clothes no longer needed!
  • No plastic bottles or plastic bags on site, we only sell reusable
YHA Sustainability - Water

  Water Saving measures:

  • Our showers and taps are 3 stars! 3 WELS stars that is… our toilets? They’re dual flush for peak bathroom efficiency!
  • Educate yourself with signage in bathrooms encouraging guests to minimise water usage 
  • We encourage you to help minimise your environmental footprint wherever possible when travelling and staying with YHA.
