    Things to do in Newhaven, Phillip Island

    There's so much to see and do at Phillip Island! The island has lots of wildlife attractions including the world-famous nightly parade of the Little Penguins, the Koala Conservation Centre, the Nobbies Centre detailing everything there is to know about the Australian Fur Seals and Churchill Heritage Farm. 

    Phillip Island is also blessed with beautiful natural beaches, great surf breaks, rugged coastal views, great bushwalks and cute local cafes and restaurants. For the sports enthusiast the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a must see and is home to a busy motor sports event calendar including Australia’s annual MotoGP.

    Phillip Island is the perfect holiday destination for nature lovers and those on a budget. Our top free things to do include -

     

    • Walk Cape Woolamai Trail. This two hour walk takes you to the islands highest point and is very picturesque. Starting at Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving carpark you will walk along beautiful Woolamai beach, past the old granite quarry, through the islands largest shearwater bird rookery and get a great view of the rock formation the Pinnacles.  Be on the lookout for migrating whales between June and October!
    • Feed the pelicans. See these beautiful and funny birds get excited over a free lunch at midday every day at San Remo near the jetty. As a bonus a family of giant stingrays that live near the jetty often make an appearance hoping for scraps!
    • Explore Nobbies Centre. Nobbies Centre showcases everything that is wonderful about the Australian Fur Seal. Although you have to pay to take a boat ride out to the Seal Rocks the beautiful boardwalk walk is free and home to magnificent views. 
    • Go for a surf. The island is famous for it's amazing beach breaks. Whether your a beginner or a pro our friendly front desk staff can give you all the tips on the best breaks for you.
