YHA Wins MAPDA Award

YHA is proud to announce that Sydney Harbour YHA & The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre, in conjunction with production house Art of Multimedia, have this month been awarded the Level A Film Award at
the 2021 MAPDAs (Museums Australasia Multimedia & Publication Design Awards) for their documentary film, ‘Archaeology at The Big Dig’.

The awards recognise excellence in media products produced for the GLAM (Galleries, Archives, Libraries and Museums) sector and were held in June 9 as part of the
AMaGA National Conference in Canberra.

One of 31 entries, the film examined the history of the iconic Big Dig site in Sydney's Rocks district and was broadcast to free-to-air audiences by SBS last year. Watch the documentary here.

YHA's Education & Interpretation Officer, Alison Frappell, accepted the award alongside Art of Multimedia's Beata Keade.
