Stradbroke Island YHA is committed to reducing its environmental footprint and being a responsible community member through a mix of conservation and sustainable practices and services. Initiatives include:

Signage throughout the Hostel promoting water & energy conservation
Energy/Greenhouse Gas Reduction:
Solar panels generating power for the hostel funded by the Sustainable Hostels Fund
LED lights throughout the hostel
Bike storing and renting available at the hostel

Participation in Earth Hour and Clean Up Australia Day
Offer a Dive Master Internships to students who receive professional Dive Master training, accommodation at the hostel and unlimited dives all free of charge over a 3 month period.
