Property refurbishments
We're making exciting upgrades to a number of your favourite YHAs. Properties across our network will be receiving major refurbishments to rooms and common spaces throughout 2024 and beyond, aimed at providing guests with an even more comfortable and memorable stay.
Guest experience
During these works, YHA is committed to ensuring you have a comfortable stay. Any noise will be confined to the hours of 9am-7pm (may change per property) to ensure regular hours of sleep are not interrupted. Other property facilities, including carpark access, lift availability and floor access may be impacted for the duration of the refurbishment. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time, as we work towards enhancing our properties for your future visits.
YHA Sydney Central
We’re excited to announce that the refurbishments at YHA Sydney Central are now complete! We’re excited to announce that the refurbishments at YHA Sydney Central are now complete! You can enjoy our newly upgraded spaces, with only the bathrooms on level 9 still undergoing work and currently unavailable to guests (this may involve temporary closure of access to the pool and rooftop).

- Co-living rooms | Works include a paint refresh, new flooring installed and the introduction of curtained bunks (for even more privacy), new high-quality mattresses and improved storage solutions.
- Corridors & common areas | Works include a paint refresh and new flooring installed.
- Ground floor | Works include a paint refresh and reception area upgrade.
- Private rooms | Works include new beds with high-quality mattresses, paint refresh, bespoke joinery and new flooring installed.
- Shared facilities | Works include refurbishment of communal bathrooms.
- Signage | Works include new modern wayfinding signage throughout property.

- Signage | Works include new modern wayfinding signage throughout property.
- Rooftop bar | Brand new fit-out of modern terrace bar for guests to enjoy a new food and drink menu with stunning Harbour views (Monday 2nd - Friday 28th September). Our pop-up bar will continue to serve guests during this time.
Rooftop access | From Monday 2nd - Friday 6th September, the rooftop will be open to guests from 4pm each day. There is one small step up to the terrace, please speak with staff if you require assistance.
