Due to the unique location within cleland conservation park, keys for Mt. Lofty Cottage YHA can only be collected from Adelaide Central YHA before arrival.

Exclusive use bookings only, minimum two people, with at least one person over 21 years of age staying at the property for the duration of the stay.

Mt Lofty Cottage YHA is available for exclusive use bookings only, allowing you to rent the entire cottage for up to ten people from $135 per night (that's just $13.50 per person). This historic Rent-A-YHA property has undergone a floor to ceiling makeover with new kitchen, flooring, furniture, paint and decorations, making the attractive stone cottage (originally built in 1880) the perfect, comfortable and affordable getaway for small groups and families.

Situated in a unique, peaceful location in the Cleland Conservation Park with stunning panoramic views through the trees over the city of Adelaide. Sleeps up to 10 people with 2 double rooms and one bunk room. Surrounded by amazing bushwalks, Cleland Wildlife Park, Mt Lofty Summit and Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens.

A top place to celebrate a special occasion with friends, as you have exclusive use of the facilities. Excellent bush setting, great bushwalking, you can see koalas and kangaroos in the wild. No need to go to Cleland Wildlife Park.

YHA Mt Lofty is a fabulous spot. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped to cater for a large group. Fantastic views. It would be a great getaway for families. So close to Adelaide. Really so cheap to stay in such a unique spot. Keep it a secret so that nothing changes !!

The location is so beautiful, with trees as far as you can see, kangaroos, kookaburras, and views of the city lights. And a bonus at this time of year is that the cottage remains cool even during a heatwave in the city.

Another great week at Mt Lofty, perfect for walking, mountain biking, road cycling or just plain relaxing. But I don't want to tell anyone so its not booked out next time we have an opportunity to stay there!

Terrific stay in the hills. Took a group of boys up for a 12 yo birthday treat. The walk up, fabulous night in the hills and back the following morning was a huge success. Great facilities.

Getting here by car or taxi

Mt Lofty Cottage YHA is situated within Cleland Conservation Park. Enter through Gate 25 off of Summit Road - key to gate provided with door key. Keys can only be collected from Adelaide Central. Available between 9am - 7pm every day. A $50 cash refundable key deposit will be required along with completed Booking Agreement form - download below. Mt Lofty Rent-A-YHA Booking Agreement Mt Lofty Map and Floor Plan Bushfire Survival Plan Due to bushfire safety requirements, a minimum of two guests required for every booking. Guests must have own car and access to a mobile phone. The local Adelaide Central Hills Rangers Office will also be notified of reservation details. Please be aware, you will need to bring your own bed linen, extra blankets, towels and tea towels.
