TEDx Sydney Harbour YHA
In October 2020 TED started a year long countdown to the October 2021 UN Climate Change Conference. At the end of the year’s countdown TED will be collaborating their knowledge and sharing a blueprint of what a zero carbon future looks like to the conference participants.
They launched their countdown with a week of TEDx events held all around the world. TED are encouraging businesses and individuals alike to create their own TEDx events to help spread the word and build momentum for actions that can be taken towards a more sustainable future.
At Sydney Harbour YHA we gathered some inspiring local businesses to tell their own sustainability stories and held a virtual watch party for a selection of TED talks that have been created specifically for the Countdown.

We invited the following local Sydney businesses to give 5 inspiring talks at TEDxSydneyHarbourYHA to discuss what we can do to make progress on climate action in our communities.
The Bower is an award-winning environmental charity and a champion of reuse and repair that has been a part of the Sydney circular economy for more than 20 years.
Zenko makes workplace sustainability easy by doing the research for you and bringing ecofriendly office products into the one place.
Kua is a circular economy coffee company who are sourcing the best coffee beans, mobilising the farmers of those coffee beans on a journey towards climate resilience and also giving the used coffee grinds a useful second life.
Travel has the potential to be a force for good. But it needs both sides of the experience to make conscious choices for that to happen.
