Day 1: Kakadu National Park

After an early morning pick up, our Top End Adventure begins as we head to the Mary River Wetlands for our billabong cruise. This region is home to an abundance of wildlife including the Saltwater Crocodile. We stop off at the South Alligator River which is a picturesque spot for a picnic lunch. It is then off to the Bowali Visitor Centre where you will have a chance to learn about the local Aboriginal culture. We plan for a late afternoon arrival to Ubirr to give us time to experience the ancient Aboriginal Rock Art. It is then a climb to the Nadab lookout for panoramic views over the floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land. After a big day it is time to head to our private campsite for a hearty dinner and a well-earned rest. (L,D)

Day 2: Kakadu National Park

This morning the jewels of Kakadu National Park await. After breakfast we travel off road to the Majestic Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls for a day of adventure and exploration. Travelling into Twin Falls by 4WD track, a boat shuttle and finally a rocky track and boardwalk, we will be rewarded by the beauty of this remote waterfall. We then head to Jim Jim Falls where a walk through monsoon forests and over boulders leads to the spectacular sight of the falls surrounded by 150 metre cliffs. We say goodbye to Kakadu and Head towards our private campsite near Litchfield. (B,L,D

Day 3: Litchfield National Park

Today we spend our last day in the top end exploring the waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments of the beautiful Litchfield National Park. Marvel at the intriguing magnetic and cathedral termite mounds and swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls. We then head to Buley Rockhole to explore the many rock holes and cascading waterfalls. It is then time to say goodbye as we head back into Darwin where you will be dropped off at the YHA.

Day 4: Nitmiluk National Park – Katherine Gorge

It is another early morning start as we are picked up from the YHA and begin our adventure towards Alice Springs. The afternoon is spent at Katherine Gorge. Ancient Sandstone has been carved away by the Katherine River to create a picturesque gorge. You have an option to take a boat cruise or if you are feeling adventurous you can paddle a canoe through the peaceful water (both optional and additional cost). We then travel to our nearby campsite and enjoy a hearty dinner before we turn in for the night. (L,D)

Day 5: Mataranka Thermal Pools

What better way to start the day than to soak in the Mataranka Thermal Pools, a lush oasis fringed by paperbark trees. No trip to the ‘Territory’ is complete without a trip to the Daly Water Pub we stop off and experience this unique watering hole. As our day winds to a close we head to our campsite at historic Banka Banka Cattle Station. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Karlu Karlu - Devil’s Marbles

This morning we pass through Tennant Creek and on to Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles) This spectacular collection of gigantic granite boulders magically balanced on top of each other is a remarkable sight. Later in the day we pass through the Tropic of Capricorn. Only 20% of the Northern Territory lies south from this point. We then arrive into Alice Springs where you are booked into the Alice Springs YHA for 2 nights in a shared dorm. (B,L)

Today we have a free day to relax or explore the red centre township of Alice Springs. All activities and meals today are at your own expense. The hostel will be able to assist with ideas on what to do today.

Day 8: Uluru

It is an early morning start today as we make the journey to Ayers Rock. In the afternoon we embark on and interpretive base walk of Uluru and visit the Cultural Centre. Nothing prepares you for the spectacular sight of the ever changing colours of the Uluru sunset. It is then off to our private campsite to prepare for another busy day tomorrow. (L,D)

Day 9: Kata Tjuta

It is another early morning start today but it is worth it as we take in the incredible Uluru sunrise. We then head off to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) . We embark on a hike through the Valley of the Winds to experience this unique site. After lunch we travel to Kings Creek Station for out camp for the night. (B,L,D)

Day 10: Watarrka – Kings Canyon

This morning we enter the Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park, home of a mighty chasm with sheer red rock faces which soar over 100 metres above lush palm forests. The rim of Kings Canyon is a 6km round trip walk and you will visit the Amphitheatre, Lost City and tranquil Garden of Eden. After Lunch we begin our journey back to Alice Springs.
