FULL ITINERARY

Day 1 – Perth to Fitzgerald River National Park

Travelling east over the Darling Ranges, the first stop is at York. Surrounded by pretty countryside, it's easy to see why this location was the first inland settlement for Western Australia's early colonists. A bit more driving and you'll be marvelling at one of Australia's biggest waves, and there is no ocean in sight. The 2,700 million-year-old Wave Rock rises 15 metres above the ground in an otherworldly fashion.

By late afternoon, arrive at Fitzgerald River National Park where we camp tonight. This is one of Australia's largest and most botanically significant national parks, renowned for its rugged hinterland, coastal scenery and more than 1,800 beautiful and rare plant species.

Today travel around 600 km (10 hours) with plenty of stops along the way. Fitzgerald River National Park has a toilet but no shower facilities.

Day 2 – Esperance & Cape Le Grand National Park

Start the day with a rewarding hike up East Mt. Barren which features breathtaking views over the region. Take the coastal route into Esperance for a coffee and mosey around, and get your first peek of the turquoise waters and white sandy beaches the area is famous for. Onwards to Cape Le Grand National Park. Iconic for its squeaky white beaches and friendly kangaroos, you are never going to want to leave this paradise. Enjoy a free afternoon here to set out on a hike or just kick back and soak up the serenity.

Today travel around 250 km (2.5 hours). Camp at Cape Le Grand which has toilet and shower facilities.

Day 3 – Cape Le Grand National Park & Stirling Ranges

The views from the top of Frenchman Peak over the Recherche Archipelago are pretty impressive, so this morning the top of Frenchman Peak is where we go. Following the hike, it's back on the bus for the drive into the Stirling Ranges. Depending on the time of the year, in spring we might seek out the beautiful wildflowers, or in the heat of summer, some secret swimming spots.

Today driving time is about 6 hours and tonight, swag camp at a private campground in the Stirling Ranges with shower and toilet facilities.

Day 4 – Stirling Ranges & South West Coast

Visit the Porongurups for a two-hour hike through some spectacular forests to Castle Rock. A bit of a climb but worth every bit of effort. Take a magnificent coastal drive towards Albany and be wowed at The Gap and Natural Bridge. Stop for a dip at Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool in William Bay National Park.

From the ocean to the forest, discover the old-growth forests of the Walpole Wilderness Region. The last stop of the day is at the largest Tingle Tree in Western Australia.

We do about 4.5 hours of driving today, with stops along the way. Tonight, we camp at a Quinninup Caravan Park which has shower and toilet facilities.

Day 5 – Margaret River

Today we put adventure aside as we taste our way around the world-renowned Margaret River region. Whatever your taste buds desire, you will find it here. From wine to gin, and chocolate to cheese, by the end of the day you will be feeling very satisfied and merry. Cheers to that!

Today travel around 200km (5 hours), making tasting stops along the way. Tonight, camp at Big Valley Caravan Park in Margaret River which has shower and toilet facilities.

Day 6 – Margaret River to Perth

On the last day of the tour, wake to the now-familiar laugh of kookaburras. Roll up your swag one last time before jumping on the bus to Dunsborough. Meet Wardandi custodian Josh, who will introduce you to the world's oldest living culture with his authentic and personal interpretation. Go deep down into the Ngilgi Cave for a memorable underground didgeridoo performance. Taste native foods, and experience traditional fire-lighting on this unique Indigenous cultural experience.

As your tour draws to an end, stop at the popular tourist town of Busselton, where it's hard to miss the 19th-century Jetty stretching 1.8km into Geographe Bay. One last stint on the road has us arriving into Perth around 6 pm.

Today we travel 300 km (4 hours).
