• Low energy bulbs keep our property well lit but doesn’t cost the earth.
• Active promotion of public transport options – the easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint!
• Get educated with signage encouraging guests to turn off lights.

Waste minimisation:

• Recycling stations are available in rooms and kitchens. We recycling anything from printer cartridges, paper, beer cans, plastic containers, light bulbs, old batteries, and lost property.
• Any food left after the check-out date is placed in the free food basket for other guests to use.
• Surplus food is donated to the local community.

Water Saving Measures:

• Our toilets are Dual flush for ultimate bathroom efficiency.
• Water-efficient laundry practices with front loader washing machines, they save hundreds of litres each year!
• Get educated with signage encouraging guests to take shorter showers, turn off taps while brushing teeth, report leaks to become a sustainability superstar!

Social sustainability:

• Guests can join us on a volunteer day which occurs once a month as part of the Hobart City Council bush regeneration program.
