New work and holiday agreement for Australia and Greece

YHA Australia welcomes the announcement that Australia and Greece are set to commence a bilateral Work and Holiday partnership.

YIAMAS!

From 1 July 2019, Australia and Greece will commence a reciprocal Work and Holiday agreement.

500 Greek citizens aged between 18 and 30 will be able to live and work in Australia for 12 months under the 462 visa.

Similarly, 500 young Australians will be able to do the same in Greece.

This agreement has been in the works since 2014, and was finally announced on Monday 25th March, 2019.

While on their first visa, Greek nationals may undertake specified work in regional areas to become eligible for a second Work and Holiday visa and extend their stay.

The option of a third year stay will also be available to them if they undertake six months of regional work in their second year in Australia.

There are now 43 countries participating in Australia's Working Holiday Maker program.

We look forward to welcoming more Greek nationals to Australia, and young Australians can look forward to some quality time in Greece.
