National Folk Festival Canberra

National Folk Festival Canberra - 18 to 22 April, 2019

Theres something about folk festivals, being surrounded by quirky, creative, intelligent and subtle magic for a few days leaves you feeling both grounded but enlightened in equal measure. From spoken word to Australian Soul performers to comedy to a Kidzfest, your synapses will be firing on all cylinders while you twirl your way through a jam-packed five day program.

Of course, you could shell out for a tent and rough it, but we do have another suggestion. A mere 15 minute drive or 22 minute bus ride away lies the gorgeous Canberra City YHA – think indoor pool and sauna, rooftop overlooking the cityscape, lush private Ensuite rooms and an extremely attractive staff. Most importantly, friends – think of the warm showers after a long, lovely day of market food and earnest performers. Sounds good, right?

The entire program can be found here, and Canberra City YHA can be booked here. Be sure to make the most of the Culture Loop shuttle, dropping you at all the must-do attractions around the city for the golden price of $0! First stop is right outside the hostel, and enjoy the ride!
