See Australia. Help Kids.

Hike. Explore. Adventure. And know you're supporting disadvantaged Australian youth.

Who are they?

Emu Trekkers is a 100% not-for-profit tour operator run by volunteer guides based in Sydney, Australia. Their mission is to offer amazing adventure hikes around Sydney and the Blue Mountains, with all proceeds supporting the education, welfare and healthcare of disadvantaged youth. This year, Emu Trekkers is proudly supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, so all trek proceeds will go towards improving literacy among young Indigenous communities around the country. Plus, YHA Members (that’s you!) receive $5 off any trek they fancy. That’s one honey-sweet deal!

What do they do?

Blue Mountains trek

Blue Mountains One Day or Overnight Trek

The World-Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park is truly a sight to be remembered – we know, ‘cause we have a hostel there. During this one or two day hike (you’ll camp if you’re going for the double!), you’ll learn about the ancient history of the area, witness amazing waterfalls and vistas, spot local wildlife and meet like-minded travellers.
Best yet, we’ve got a truly gorgeous place for you to rest your head after all the fun! Blue Mountains YHA is guaranteed to give you your best nights’ sleep – clear air, cozy fireplace, small town charm. Lovely.

Sydney Coast Hike

Sydney Coast Hike

If you’re looking to take in the rugged, gorgeous coast from Sydney to Manly, there’s really no better way than on a hike. On this 10k stroll from Sydney Harbour National Park to Manly beach you’ll learn about Aboriginal rock carvings, view scenic lookouts and explore hidden coastal beaches – before ending up in Sydney’s favourite beachside town! Have a drink on the water to celebrate a hard day’s walk, then make your way to Sydney Beachouse YHA or one of our five CBD properties to rest your bones before another day of exploring!

Okay I want to go!
