State Travel Vouchers

As we emerge from the Covid crisis and travel restrictions start to ease, Holiday Here and give a much needed boost to our tourism & hospitality industries. When it comes to travel and getting out and about, our governments are providing great incentives for us. So give us hand and don't forget to enjoy yourself, there are so many great reasons to travel within Australia right now. We've put together a state-by-state breakdown of all the deals and incentives available, so read on to find your Aussie getaway inspiration!

YHA advises checking current government COVID restrictions before making holiday plans - available here and complying with State and Territory registration processes to assist in contact tracing in the event of a Covid outbreak.

New South Wales

The Dine & Discover NSW program is back and 2 new vouchers will be available to residents towards the end of this year (and if you had any unused from before, they now expire June 2022) Read about Dine & Discover NSW here

A new incentive, Stay & Rediscover, to get NSW residents (over 18) travelling and supporting local tourism businesses has also been announced and this time it's for accommodation! The vouchers will be available in March 2022 and most YHA properties in NSW will be part of the program. So pencil in some getaway dates (vouchers can be used 7 days a week, including public holidays) for next year because you'll save $50 immediately (or you can combine them for an even bigger saving)!

If you're lucky enough to be included in the pilot, your voucher can be used at one of our 3 Sydney CBD properties.

Victoria

The Regional Travel Voucher Scheme covered accommodation, sightseeing entry fees and tours in regional Victoria (reimbursement of $200 if at least $400 is spent) and was available to Victorian households. It is currently closed but may reopen soon. Check out everything you need to know here.

Australian Capital Territory

The ChooseCBR program closed on September 9 2021. Residents & visitors were able to get their hands on digital discount vouchers that could be redeemed at participating businesses. Keep your eye out in case it opens again soon. See the FAQ page here.

Northern Territory

Available to NT residents (over 18), the Territory Tourism Voucher scheme can be used for accommodation and activities & experiences. Round 4 registrations open on October 4th at 8:00 pm. Click here to register and get $200 worth of accommodation. There is even a $200 bonus if you travel more than 400km!

South Australia

SA continues to offer their Great State Voucher to residents over 18 in South Australia, and a limited number available for residents of all other Australian states and territories. The booking period is open from the 16th September to the 14th October.

  • $100 vouchers are on offer for eligible Adelaide city and North Adelaide accommodation providers
  • $50 is applicable to participating hotels in suburban & regional South Australia

Queensland

Tasmania 

Luck Tasmanians who have won the ballot as part of the Travel Vouchers Tasmania can be reimbursed for up to $300 worth of travel including $200 in accommodation. Check the terms and conditions of use here.
