Experience Alpine Australia at Thredbo this Summer!

• 14-16 FEB – SNOWIES MTB FESTIVAL 

Three days, six stages, and over 100km of rugged mountain terrain just waiting to be dominated; there’s a reason this is one of Australia’s most iconic mountain bike stage races. Remember to ride boldly and never fear the spills… this is one epic mountain bike fest that only the Snowies can deliver! In 2020 two new course options have also been added including the 90k Brumby and 128k Wild Brumby! 

• 14-16 FEB – GRAVITY GIRLS RETREAT 

Gravity Girls are returning again in 2020! The best female mountain bike instructors have joined forces to provide you with a huge schedule of riding, skill sessions, yoga and social events. The ladies only retreat is a great way to meet other riders and build confidence on the mountain, as well as throwing a little relaxing and socialising time into the mix. 

• 22-23 FEB – THREDBO SUPER ENDURO 

Thredbo Super Enduro is in its third annual year, showcasing the diverse terrain on offer in the Thredbo Mountain Bike Park. Riders are able to compete either individually or in a team with the challenge of racing all three gravity trails in just five hours! The Enduro is not for the fainthearted and promises to leave only the most skilled riders on top.

• 1 MAR – TRAIL RUN AUSTRALIA 

Challenge yourself and take part in this year’s Trail Run Festival. Whether you’re a trail run enthusiast,  someone who just loves the outdoors, or a family with kids, there are courses for all experience and skill levels - including the Ultra, Half Marathon, 11km, 5km and free kids events. Come together to enjoy one of the most scenic trail run courses in Australia at the iconic Snowy Mountains. 

• 19-21 MAR – RARE CANCERS KOSCIUSZKO CHALLENGE

An annual fundraising event hosted by Rare Cancers Australia. Registrations are open now. Want to challenge and immerse yourself in the beautiful landscapes, all in support of a great cause this year? Here’s your chance!

• 19-22 MAR – AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN BIKING INTERSCHOOL'S 

Taking place over four days the 2020 Australian MTB Interschool’s aims to evoke the younger generation’s interest in competitive biking. Over the course of the event future stars will be immersed in a range of disciplines including Cross Country, Downhill, Flow, Pump Track and an exciting XC Team Relay. Essentially, you’ll get to watch some future young guns battle it out in a supportive, super fun atmosphere!

• 11-25 APR – EASTER SCHOOL HOLIDAY ADVENTURE FESTIVAL 

This two week period is chock-a-block with mountains of family fun. Get it? Mountains? They’ll be plenty to do for the entire family including bobsleds, slacklining, treasure hunts, skate park workshops, mountain bike track sessions, arts and craft, rock climbing, face painting – you’ll struggle to keep up.

• 6-8 JUN – WINTER 2020 OPENING WEEKEND 

Kick off Winter 2020 in style at Thredbo! The slopes are open and sips are aplenty – they’ve got long lunches, live entertainment and kids’ activities for days. Winter is here peeps! Who’s keen for first laps? Accommodations are to be of high demand during the ski season, secure a place to stay at YHA Thredbo early, information can be found here. 

• 6 JUN - 2 SEP - FULL MOON PARTIES 

Come together at the famous winter Full Moon Parties, howl at the moon and get Thredbo LIT! Free entry, buses from Jindabyne, free glow paint and some of the best DJ’s in Australia. See you at the dance floor!

• 2-21 JUL – JULY KIDS SNOW FESTIVAL 

There’s something for everyone these school holidays, with on and off-mountain activities, skiing, snowboarding and trampolining by day, movie nights, pizza, flare runs and night skiing by evening – and of course lots of Après for the parents!

• 5 JUL – TORAH BRIGHT MINI SHRED

Calling all mini-shredders! The ‘Torah Bright Mini Shred' at Thredbo is happening again this season and is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Who better to teach the tricks of the trade than Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright and an all-star line-up of Australian Olympians and legends?

• 14-18 JUL – TRAVELPLAN SKI - SYDNEY INTERSCHOOL'S CHAMPIONSHIPS

Brace yourself for the Sydney Interschool Championships! Over the course of five days, Thredbo hosts schools from all over Sydney bringing together their best snow sports team to compete in 6 disciplines. Who's gonna be the 2020 NSW State Championships? You’ll have to venture down and see!

• 19-24 JUL – KOSCIUSZKO PALE ALE UNI 

Right before you knuckle down for the rest of the semester, ditch the textbooks and study notes for another few days and pick up a drink and some skis! Uni students score discounted lift passes and have a bloody fun time ahead of them.

• 22 JUL – JYE'S JAM 

Where else would you get a chance to hang with some of the most talented boarders in the world? Back for its fourth year, Thredbo ambassador Jye Kearney has handpicked the best riders in the Southern Hemisphere to compete in a 1.5-hour jam session.

• 25 JUL – CHRISTMAS IN JULY 

Dreaming of a white Christmas in Thredbo? Long lunches, presents and a cheeky man in a very red suit - ditch the Southern Hemisphere for a day and join us for a glass of eggnog in true Thredbo style. Santa will be giving out warm Chrissy cookies throughout the day on the mountain and come meet the big man himself on Friday from 3:30pm – 4:30pm to get a quality snap for the mantelpiece!   

• 27-31 JUL - Environmental Week 

A week dedicated towards driving awareness towards what we can do to protect our winter and Thredbo. Take part in the Hike for POW and come together with the community to learn more about how to take care of our environment while hiking to the top of Mt Kosciuszko in the snow.

• 31 JUL - 1 AUG - LAWSKI 

It’s the time of year that lawyers love the most! Back for its 20th year, LAWSKI brings together the top law firms over a love of POW! Boasting five social events and the pinnacle Ski and Snowboard Race, this event is guilty of fun. Get it? Guilty?

• 15 AUG - CORONA SUNSETS PRESENTS  

Grab a cool corona, hang with your friends, with your favourite dance tracks hitting centre stage at the Corona Sunsets. Sounds like the perfect afternoon for me!

• 31 AUG-1 SEP – SNOWTUNES MUSIC FESTIVAL

Snowtunes Music Festival – the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow music festival is hitting Thredbo once again! Now entering its fifth year, grab your beanie and get ready to hit the slopes for a fresh festival getaway.

• 21 SEP – 3 OCT - KIDS SNOW FESTIVAL 

All the fun of July with the springtime wonder only September affords! There’s something on offer for everyone these school holidays at Thredbo. If the school year has left you dreading weeks on end with complains of being 'bored,' promise us, this trip is worth it!
