Working Holiday Maker cap increases for Spain, Peru and Israel

YHA welcomes the announcement of an increase in the number of Working Holiday Makers who can come to Australia from Spain, Peru and Israel. More Australians can also visit these countries for Working Holidays!

Ole, ole and mazel tov!

This year is starting off with a bang for the backpacker sector, with the announcement of an increase in the number of Working Holiday Makers who can come to Australia from Spain, Peru and Israel.

From 28 December 2018, the number of places available to Spanish nationals under the Work and Holiday program (visa subclass 462) has increased from 1500 per year to 3400.

The number of places available to Peruvians under the 462 visa increased from 100 to 1500 from 2 January 2019. Click here for more information.

More Israelis can also avail of the 462 visa from 28 December 2018, increasing from 500 per year to 2500.

Remember Aussies - the scheme is reciprocal, so more of you will be able to visit Spain, Peru and Israel for a Working Holiday too!

And in more good news, the Australian government is currently in discussions with a further 10 countries for cap increases… so watch this space!

Additionally, the government has announced more occupations available to overseas nationals under the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA II) between the Northern Territory Government and the Federal Government (whereby employers can recruit skilled migrants if they are unable to fill positions locally). See here for more information.
