South Australia’s capital packs some serious street cred. From free bike hire, the largest selection of food trucks in the country, the must-visit Adelaide Central Market and the rapidly expanding small bar scene, you can see why the locals call it ‘Radelaide’.
Make Adelaide Central YHA Backpacker your base and take a day and head out to the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, a one hour drive away. You will never forget your visit to Kangaroo Island. Meet Australian sea lions on the beach, kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, penguins, echidnas and diverse birds. Discover rugged rock formations, underground caves, bush-cloaked national parks, and beaches and bays to swim, snorkel and dive.

Perth scores a trifecta with its prime river-front vantage, proximity to sun-drenched coastline and faraway wine country. Pristine beaches, streets lined with trendy bars and cafes and loads of outdoor activities are only a few reasons why the west is best! Award-winning Perth City YHA is the perfect base to explore this far-flung capital. If you'd rather sleep closer to the beach, try out the Fremantle Prison YHA instead.
While in Perth, make time for a day trip to Rottnest Island. This island, a 30 minute ferry ride away, features spectacular snorkelling sites, 63 beaches, the famous Wadjemup walk trail, and some very welcoming quokkas.
