Things are heating up (despite the cool weather) in Margaret River from May 29 – June 9 as the Margaret River Pro, the fourth event on the World Surf League tour, comes to town.
The world’s best surfers will descend on the small South West town to hit the waves, fighting it out amongst each other to be crowned the Margaret River Pro champion.
It’ll be a bit too chilly to relax in your bikini and boardies on the beach, so grab a blanket, don a beanie and pack a thermos of coffee to keep warm while you watch the top 34 male surfers and top 16 female surfers compete for points and glory.
This event is running for a spectacular 12 days, so you’ll also have plenty of time to explore the beautiful Margaret River region – visit a couple of wineries, explore some caves, and relax until your heart’s content!
Margaret River YHA is perfect if you’re on a budget, their rooms start at a tantalising $30 per night and is only a short drive to the beach, so you’ll be close to all the surfing action.
