Are you a lover of books, writing and poetry? Do you love nothing better than discussing the issues of the day? Do you want to learn, engage and grow? Then the Melbourne Writers Festival is for you!
Writers, philosophers, poets and politicos from around the country and across the globe will descend into Melbourne in August for this festival. Listen to your favourite author speak about their books, hear about the behind the scenes of the political world, be in the studio audience for the First Tuesday Book Club's MWF episode or attend a panel discussion on what's happening around the world and what people think should be done!
There's something for everyone here, even students. The Melbourne Writers Festival runs a schools program that features alongside its regular program which makes it the perfect school excursion. There's a variety of talks and workshops available for students from primary level all the way up to VCE. The schools program is released in May whereas the regular program is released in July - visit their site for all the details.
The festival runs from 25 August - 3 September, with the schools program running from 28 - 31 August.
