A celebration of the community's relationship and love for whalesharks, the Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival is not to be missed. Running from May 26-28 2017, this three day event is full of fun and activities for families and backpackers alike.
Attend the Gala Festival Opening for a touch of glitz and glamour or if you're feeling athletic, sign up for the fun run.
Saturday is Festival Day, a free entry event featuring live entertainment, kite flying and workshops, local art, food and market stalls selling local products and produce, fire shows, rides for kids and adults of all ages, plus entertainment on stage from 10am until close.
Live music at Cadillacs Bar and Grill will take you from the fun of Festival Day into the good vibes of Concert Night. The Southern River Band and Datura4 are local Western Australian bands that will have you singing along, dancing and moving all the way into the night.
The big event on Sunday is the Big Day Out on Ningaloo Reef, where a lucky number of festival goers can swim out on the reef with the creatures this festival celebrates, with a discount. If you want to enjoy that experience, you'll need to pre-book, so get in quick.
Sunday afternoon brings the close of this fantastic festival. The Festival Close Sundowner at the Exmouth Yacht Club will keep you entertained for hours with live music, beach games and circus workshops.
