We’ve got a PSA for Shiraz lovers – the Grampians is holding the Seriously Shiraz Festival, a 2 day festival dedicated to the holy drop of Shiraz.
Held over the first weekend in September, this festival is perfect for those who couldn’t care less about footy finals and honestly just want to drink some Shiraz.
Hold on to your wine folks, the Seriously Shiraz Festival has a full program of events that’ll keep everyone busy – including tasting masterclasses, degustation lunches, helicopter flights over the wineries, wine tastings held at a variety of the Grampians wineries, live music and a masterclass teaching you how to talk about wine, so you can impress everyone at your next dinner party with your vino knowledge.
There’s a variety of ticketed and free events, so make sure you check out the program and buy your tickets in advance – this will sell out fast and you don’t want to be the sad person in the Grampians who isn’t drinking a delicious drop of Shiraz.
Take a few extra days off work to spend some time in the majestic Grampians National Park. With waterfalls, relaxed and advanced hiking trails, spectacular lookouts and adorable wild animals, it’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in the Australian bush.
Save some extra cash by staying at Grampians Eco YHA. With beds starting from $33 a night, you’ll be able to buy a couple of cheeky bottles to wine to take home with you with all that cash you saved. A weekend well spent if you ask us.
