Sydney’s Vivid festival takes light shows to a new level, when the Harbour city lights up for the biggest international music, art and light festival in the Southern Hemisphere. The festival expands to Barangaroo for the first time, illuminating the laneways and eateries of the boom waterfront precinct, and has extended its walking trail through the Royal Botanic Gardens, popping out at the Opera House, which will be lit up by dozens of fantastical imaginary creatures scampering around its sails.
And it’s not just the light installations you need to check out, as Sydney transforms into a creative hub with a jam-packed three-week program of Vivid Music and Vivid Ideas. vividsydney.com
