Sydney's cracking calendar
Vivid might have finished but there are still loads of other great events lighting up the Harbour City for the rest of 2017.
Sydney Winter Festival
30 June – 17 July 2017
Get your skates on and hit the Sydney Winter Festival for some "cool Yule". Check out the pop-up winter wonderland in the shadow of Sydney's towering St Mary's Cathedral, complete with outdoor ice rink, alpine huts serving winter warming goodies like bratwurst, gluwhein and roasted chestnuts, plus there's free festive entertainment including themed nights, skating performances, live music and DJs. Entry is free, however ice skating should be booked ahead online and starts at $22 for adults and $60 for families, including skate hire and booking fee.
Bastille Festival – the Food Wine Art Revolution
13 July – 16 July 2017
Enjoy food, wine and art at the Bastille Festival this July. This 'feastival' celebrates French cuisine and other cuisines around Europe. Definitely worth a visit!

Smooth Festival of Chocolate
12 August – 13 August 2017
Remember Augustus Gloop, the pudgy German kid who dives into the chocolate river at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory? Well we’ve all got a little bit of Augustus in us when the Smooth Festival of Chocolate rolls into town, transforming the Rocks into a sweet-tooth’s paradise over one sugar-laden weekend this August. Indulge in your own personalised Lindt chocolate bar, an espresso martini topped with a Nutella doughnut ball, and plenty of other Wonka-esque concoctions by some of Australia’s top chocolatiers. Go on, treat yo’ self.
Stay at Sydney Harbour YHA in the heart of the Rocks.
