The world could do with more peace, and that’s exactly what the Rotary International Presidential Peacebuilding Conference (one of six being held around the world) sets out to achieve.
The summit, to be held at Sydney Town Hall on March 17, brings together academics, politicians, activists, business and community leaders to consider how to resolve conflict from both a local and international perspective. Come along and find out how peace can be given a chance, through tackling the underlying issues behind conflicts and encouraging economic and community development to target poverty, disease, food security and lack of education.
By coincidence, the conference takes place on St Patrick’s Day, and Ireland is a good case study of a country that has managed to largely resolve its “Troubles” to achieve peace in our time. So don your green clothing, and throw your hat in the ring to win one of two tickets to this event - all you have to do is answer this simple question in 50 words or less...
